im honestly kinda nervous about sunday’s release for stupid reasons.
i actually very happy with existing in this state of uncertainty when it comes to him. like im nervous that hoyoverse is going to fuck up with executing his story properly in terms of what has already been shown of him. like you know what id rather not know! i should really stop being so worried like its their story no way theyre gonna do it bad right? RIGHT?????? also i dont like people perceiving him which is like…lol??? lmao even??? i feel like hes a celebrity and im his body guard like no you cant actually see him unless i approve of you. its sooo stupid like ur not real why am i being so dramatic this is so cringe but on the other hand im allowed to be cringe this is my husband love of my life im allowed to be upset. but its not only the like casual players that just ugh you wouldnt get him!! but its like these little roaches that think that theyre fans.
there is a certain type of sunday “fan” that i have so much distain for. i cannot physically bring myself to respect them or what they stand for. they bastardise his story and everything he represents and values. they follow their own fucking narrative and ignore literally everything in the actual story that disproves their fucking vile creations. i feel utterly disgusted that i have to exist in a space with them. im not naming them by their actual title because just saying it or thinking about makes me feel so so ill. i dont care what they use to justify their actions, it doesnt help at all. theyre hypocrites, i hate them. i dont want sunday to come out knowing that these “people” are going to pull for him and have him on their accounts.
back in the earlier genshin days, i always caught myself laughing at xiao fans who would be gatekeeping him…but now i understand them fully now. like oo im being such a bitch about this but like they gross me out and quite literally exist off the basis of misinformation…so like i have the being a bitch pass on this thank yoouuuuu.

The biggest factor thats just physically preventing me from enjoying any ship dynamic outside of galladay (unless its galladayvoidwelt) is both of their relations to hanunue and mikhail. first of all i want to link this video essay that recounts the story of penacony/what happened in the film making event as insight to hanunue and mikhails relationship. these two are explicitly gay characters who were in a relationship, quite literally at one point stating “hanuclockie, do not seperate, do not reverse”. but i couldnt help but notice during the entirety of penacony’s arc how similar hanuclockie and galladay are? im not the best at theorising and putting stuff into words but ill try my best to explain myself.
Both hanunue and gallagher are represented by canine imagery, hounds and wolves, as well as both being bloodhound family members.
Both sunday and mikhail had ambitious plans for penacony, being seen in leading positions and executing grand plans.
Both hanunue and gallagher disappeared/”died” in some way that being way too soon and also as a supposed “sacrifice”.
Hanunue visits mikhail in a dream, supposedly comforting him and watching over him. I personally think this is similar to gallaghers dog statue being found in sunday’s mansion and stating “A noteless Hound roams the grand mansion, scanning its surroundings. Soon it realizes your presence before vanishing into the shadows under the eaves. Even if it’s imaginary, it is an unshakable loyalty.” Both had loyal dogs who watched over in some way, whether it was closely and mysterously or while stealing the personality of a penacony citizen and acting as a security guard.
After inviting the astral express to the new festival he spoke to gallagher about, he dreams about going back to the express, boarding it, and sharing his stories with everyone… this dream sadly doesnt get fulfilled and he passes away. however this dream continues on through sunday. as we know, sunday is set to join the astral express therefore being the one after the festival to board and reshape and heal is life. this further connects him to mikhail. one starts the journey, and the other continues it.
And if all else fails, gallagher confirms it himself. “Yeah, not just those Nameless, even Mr Wings is just like you… Stubborn, won’t listen or give up, no matter what… Well, fate is unpredictable, I guess. If we werent bound by those cursed Paths, maybe we could’ve had some good talks.”
I cant even do the funny “haha look at me im talking in the brackets” for this (lol hi) cause this line genuinely made me sob while i was playing the story... like its so deeply heartfelt and no one fucking got it?? im sorry “If we werent bound by those cursed paths, maybe we could’ve had some good talks.” that was straight up a punch to the gut... they couldve had it all… they couldve explored the cosmos together… but again as said by gallagher himself “The whole thing is just fate playing a cruel joke on us.”
These four have such a rich and intertwined history together. Im quite literally like crying again as im typing this just because im remembering it. They are very obviously queer as well. As stated earlier it was confirmed that hanunue and mikhail were both in a gay relationship, because of their parallels to their two “predecessors” this would make gallagher and sunday gay as well through coding and implications and i cherish this very dearly.
Unfortunately i dont have too much trust in hoyoverse to continue the storyline between gallagher and sunday and their individual stories themselves. With the success of ZZZ and the downgrade of Genshin (in my opinion at least), im always petrified at the idea that hsr may devolve into obvious gooner bait or really shit story telling. We already have that with jade and the random cut off near the last time we were in penacony. All i can do is pray that they can keep going forward with their honestly really good queer story telling in their honkai series. I hope gallagher and sunday find each other again someday.

7. as of october 8th I have 76, i am slow as shit when it comes to farming and i had to like lose around 80 because i wanted jiaoqiu (you dont know how desperate i am for supports), im going to lock in during 2.6. unrealistically, i do want E6S5 but im mainly aiming for E2S1. im praying the gacha gods can shine their light on me just this once.

yeah, they’re right… but that doesnt give people an excuse to label him as some sort of predator.
its an extremely surface level way to analyse him to immediately just label him as automatically as a predator. as people in the replies and quotes are saying, he is definitely not one dimensional, far from it actually. people either go “oh hes an angel who can do no wrong” or “he preys on people and is the reincarnation of evil”. to both parties, did we play the same game? he is a product of his environment and experiences as everyone is, the game went in depth into that very well both above and below the surface. he is a victim but victims arent perfect. he is mentally ill but mentally ill people don’t always have to be coddled and put into echo chambers of yes men. he has good intentions but impact outweighs intentions. yes obviously he gets a power trip when dealing with the people he sees as threat to his ideologies, why do you think he was so on edge when being finally confronted by Gallagher? he was being challenged by someone who he couldn’t control.
it just baffles me that people see sunday so one dimensionally to the point where the goodness in his heart and the depth of emotions that he has automatically get mischaracterised as predatory behavior. robin is his last surviving family member, there is a lot of sentimental value to relationships people have between their family members. he has slowly been showing his ideologies to her as they grow up but he still kept her away from the order until the quest. he panicked immediately when he found out that she had been shot and has put a lot of effort into keeping her safe. even with her strength, he views her as weaker than him and what is the core message of sundays ideology? protecting the weak and keeping everyone happy. but people dont look into this stuff and on the surface just see him being obsessive about making sure shes ok which then deludes people who smell to think “oh he obviously taps that” hhhuuuuhhhhhhhhhh????? are you fucking illiterate? did you cover your ears like a kid and when the world meant nothing you went la la la ??????? (please tell me someone got the reference). I ask again, did we play the same fucking game????

Unrelated to my previous statements: A lot of the people in this thread are also relating his sadism (specifically in the scene with aventurine) to a sexual desire which… ok but sadism isn’t always sexual? like sure whatever, kinks can develop from trauma but thats not the only way to deal with trauma or the only way that trauma can show within someone. automatically going “haha freaky” when you hear that could be mischaracterisation but i understand people could just be head cannoning this stuff. It could be sexual, but it also cannot be at the same time… schrödinger's sadism if you will. As we are seeing in the story and based off story leaks, hes becoming a nameless, going on and exploring things himself, healing from his past traumas, for all we know, he could be trying to become less sadistic and less controlled by his past. Personally, i think thats the best bet. I am excited to see him heal...
he’s such a beautifully written character with an absolutely gut wrenching upbringing and it’s one of the many reasons he became a favourite of mine. hes not a bad person nor a good person, hes a secret 3rd thing (lol). i feel like hes a sort of intelligence test for hsr fans cause like reading peoples takes on him i just nod and go “i know exactly what kind of person you are”. sometimes i think to myself that im too passionate about this fictional character, but then i remember that im allowed to feel this way and im not as insufferable as the absolute losers that say shit like “erm it’s just fiction get over it!” like wow I may be cringe but im not THAT cringe. those types of people only say that shit only when its in defence of something fucking awful, it’s wild how bigoted people can get like… girl didn’t YOU say it was just fiction? something smells… anyway, it’s incredibly unfortunate that he is a character from a gacha game, like such a good story wasted by being exposed to literally the worst people ever (im exaggerating obviously but like…come on) but like...what can you do?
